PHOTOS: The Nigerian Army Uncovers Fake Military Base In Benue Community

According to recent report, the Nigerian Army on Tuesday September 26, discovered a fake military base operating in Okpokwu, Benue state. The fake soldiers in the base are believed to have been operating a criminal enterprise where they trained high profile criminals. The entrance to the fake base had a signpost with the inscription "Coastal Defence Force 4th Arms. Signal Ship Base. Okpokwu, Benue State Command" They were caught with full military fatigues and weapons like cutlasses and what appeared to be locally-made riffles.

The Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, says he has suffered in the hands of those that twist information and spread fake news. It has been reported that the Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic Crimes Commission, EFCC Friday 29 September 2017, arraigned four suspected Internet fraudsters; Omosehin  Sina, Oladimeji Oladayo, Olowosagba Olamilekan Samson and Afilaka Oluwole Michael before Justice Ayo Emmanuel of the Federal High Court  Ibadan, Oyo State on separate charges bordering on possession of documents containing false pretense. . . While Omolehin and Oladimeji were arraigned on a six-count charge, Olowosagba and Afilaka were docked for four and three- counts respectively. They pleaded not guilty to all the charges. . . In view of their plea, the prosecuting counsel, Harrison Ibekwute approached the judge for a trial date and since there was no application for bail before the court, the judge remanded the accused in Agodi prison and adjourned till 31 October 2017 for the commencement of trial. . . Man who killed five-day-old baby he fathered with the younger sister of his pregnant wife,pleads for forgiveness

The barbaric culprit did not blink an eye in acceding to the crime he committed. A group of journalist asked questions about his abominable deed but received incoherent reply.   The 47-year-old Moses Otimba was arrested for infanticide after he killed a five-day-old baby boy he fathered with the younger sister of his pregnant wife. The suspect impregnated his 18-year-old sister-in-law, Joy, killed the child after delivery and buried it in a shallow grave near a river. According to him, living everyday with the child would have been a traumatic experience for him, though he never envisaged the matter could be this weighty. Otimba, an indigene of Ogbogoro community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa state, was said to have carried out the act in connivance in order to hide the paternity of the baby.

"Nigerian Cows Produce The Worst Milk In The World"... Audu Ogbeh.

The minister of agriculture and rural developmen Atudu Ogbeh , has said that Nigerian cows are the worst producers of milk across the world. Speaking in Lagos at the 79th anniversary of the Ikoyi Club 1938 on Thursday, September 28, Ogbeh said the cows raised in Nigeria produce far less quantity of milk than other in other parts of the world. The minister said while cows in some countries produce 100 litres of milk daily, an average Nigerian cow produces less than one litre of milk in a day. He also said that the cows in countries like Holland produce 50 litres per day on the average while the US cows have more production. Ogbeh said: “An average cow in the US drinks an average of 100 litres of water per day; but in Nigeria, I doubt whether a cow can get two liters of water per week.” “The earlier farmers started developing ranches for cows, the better it would be for the cow market and its entire value chain,” Ogbeh said. Infant mortality: Nigeria loses 1,000 kids every year

infant mortality has remained a huge challenge in Nigeria. Despite interventions by government and other stakeholders like the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) and non-governmental organisations, which advocate healthy living conditions to save the lives of infants, the death toll keeps on climbing the ladder. Though different incidences account for the problem, the major factor has been largely attributed to inadequate breastfeeding. A nutritionist, Mrs. Ada Ezeogu, disclosed that over 103,742 children die in Nigeria annually due to poor breastfeeding by nursing mothers. She made the disclosure at a two-day Media Dialogue on Breastfeeding and Global Breastfeeding Collective with the theme: “Sustaining Breastfeeding Together.” It was organised by the Child Rights Information Bureau (CRIB) of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture in collaboration with UNICEF and sponsored by the Department for International Development (DFID). A catholic priest Rev. Fr. Lawrence Adorolo of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Iddo II,  Auchi Diocese, was kidnapped along Auchi-Okpella highway  on Wednesday . Catholic Bishop of Auchi Diocese, Most. Rev Gabriel Dunia confirmed the abduction  on Thursday ,  at a press conference held in Auchi in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo. According to the bishop, the priest was kidnapped along Auchi-Okpella highway  on Wednesday evening. “Rev. Fr. According to report this morning,Two South African high school students have been suspended, after their marriage proposal on the school grounds which was captured on video went viral. 18-year-old Mduduzi Tlou proposed to his 16-year-old girlfriend (whose name is withheld because she is underage) in front of cheering fellow students at Tholulwazi Secondary School in Tsakane, Ekurhuleni,  last week, with the video going viral on social media. A Stampede has taken the lives of 22 people in a railway stations in Mumbai during the morning rush while another 27 were injured. When falling concrete hit the bridge railing, people in the crowd thought the bridge would collapse and surged to escape, Mumbai police official Gansham Patel said. Lawmaker Shaina Nana Chudasama of the governing Bhartiya Janata Party said people had been crowding under the canopy covering the bridge to escape heavy rains, making the deadly tragedy worse. The pedestrian bridge connected two local Mumbai railway stations — Elphinstone and Parel.Deadly stampedes are fairly common during Indian religious festivals, where large crowds gather in small areas with few safety or crowd control measures.

According to report, two Nigerians and a Cambodian were  on Thursday ,  tried for drug trafficking by Phnom Penh Municipal Court after being caught selling crystal methamphetamine to an undercover police officer. The accused, Samson Ifechi  Friday , 29, and Onwuka Chibuzor, 33, and But Sobin, 26, were arrested by anti-drug police in April in Chom Chao commune, after which police seized two small packages of crystal methamphetamine. However, deputy prosecutor Kol Bun said on  April 3 , police arrested Mr Sobin and confiscated 11.41 grams of meth from him. Mr Sobin then aided police in a sting operation. Mr Sobin called an unknown woman, the drug ringleader, who then hired a Nigerian man to deliver more drugs to him. “The Nigerians were arrested after they gave the package of drugs to undercover police,” said Judge Vannak. REPORT: Cameroon Government Deports 100,000 Nigerian Refugees

It has been reported by the Human Rights Watch (HRW), Cameroon has forcibly returned 100,000 Nigerian refugees over breach of international agreements. The rights group accused soldiers of deporting refugees escaping Islamist violence, as well as attacking and sexually exploiting them. Cameroon is "punishing" refugees for Boko Haram attacks, HRW said. HRW said in a new report says, 'since early 2015, the Cameroonian authorities have summarily deported at least 100,000 Nigerians living in remote border areas back to war, displacement and destitution in Nigeria's Borno state. In carrying out these deportations, Cameroonian soldiers have frequently used extreme physical violence'. Earlier this year, the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) criticised Cameroon for forcibly returning hundreds of refugees to north-east Nigeria. It said the returns had "continued unabated", despite the signing of an agreement ensuring that any returns would be voluntary.

The driver of the car pictured allegedly dumped the unconscious woman  on Tuesday  night, September 26. Some concerned witnesses speculated that the woman’s lover had dumped her at Roysambu after drugging her. “Earlier this evening, the driver of car registration number KCB 697T dumped an unconscious lady by the roadside at Roysambu. While taking off, the driver realised people were taking pictures of him and the registration plate. He consequently got out of the car, pretending to be a concerned citizen. A recent viral video showed a waiter who mistakenly slipped and pour a hot soup on a little boy, burning him in a restaurant. The child and his parents were in a restaurant in Yongzhou City, in China's central Hunan Province, when the accident happened. In a CCTV video, the waiter is seen walking toward the family as the boy plays on his mobile phone. As the waiter gets close to their table, he slips and while falling, the pot of soup drops on the table, its contents spilling onto the boy's face and his body. The boy immediately jumps up and is pulled aside by his mum, but he can be seen writhing in pain. His father stands too and dumps the pot on the floor, away from his son, they nudges the waiter aside to get to his screaming son.  The child was taken to the hospital for treatment afterward. Police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said after the 21-year-old mother allegedly killed her baby on Monday she lied to her family elders about the child being missing. It has been reveaqled that a member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dare Pelemo, has been accused of sexually and physically assaulting a widow at the Assembly complex. Following the allegations, the Ekiti State International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) has demanded the arrest and prosecution Mr Pelemo. He is accused of fondling the breasts of Mrs Ilesanmi on September 6 at the Assembly complex. Mrs. Ilesanmi said she raised an alarm but the lawmaker mobilised thugs to beat her in the Office of Majority Leader Mr. Tunji Akinyele, where she lodged a complaint on the alleged sexual harassment. According to report this morning, the Uganda's parliament on Tuesday was a scene of action as MPs flexed muscles and threw chairs at one another ahead of a debate on whether to grant long-serving President Yoweri Museveni another term in office. He has been in power for more than three decades. The move to extend Museveni's rule has met widespread opposition from civic rights activists, the political opposition, religious leaders and even some members of Museveni’s own ruling party. Government and opposition lawmakers came to blows after the House speaker allowed a ruling party legislator to introduce a motion to kick-start a process to remove an age cap from Uganda’s constitution to allow Museveni to run for re-election. Under the existing constitution, a person standing for President must be under 75 years of age - which would make Museveni, 73, ineligible to stand at the next polls in 2021. Watch video below:

She was laid to rest in her hometown on Thursday, September 21. Her brother Kelechi Augustine  Sunday , who announced her sad passing,  didn't mention what led to her death.
