REPORT: Nigerian Cows Reportedly Infected With Monkey Pox

A viral Photo of a cow infected with monkeypox has finally surfaced on social media.
A social media page, Niger Delta Avengers reportedly posted the photo on their Facebook page.
However, the Federal Government said it is yet to confirm spread of disease to seven states.
They further said they are yet to confirm if Monkeypox is a disease or a virus.
The national Coordinator, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, Chikwe Ihekweazu, disclosed that results of laboratory tests to confirm or refute the outbreak of monkeypox in Nigeria will be out on Friday.
Speaking on the 31 cases of monkeypox recorded in Nigeria, Ihekweazu said there is no confirmation yet if the over 30 suspected cases in three states were monkeypox.
Recall, it was previously reported that a victim of the viral disease who was quarantined at the isolation centre in Bayelsa committed suicide.
