The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a Pastor who was paraded in his church premises, for reportedly killing and burying 2 children inside his Church for rituals in Ogun State. The State’s Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, said the exhumed human parts will be taken in forensic investigation. The Pastor who confessed to the crime, said that the kids (male and female) aged 10 and 12 were killed for Fifty thousand naira each.

The Nigerian army swung into action after a news platform, Daily Sun, on August 9, published a bomb expert, Professor Yakubu’s outcry over the huge number of explosives stockpiled in the state. The explosives expert, stockpile manager and Managing Director of Demining Concept Nigeria, further noted that about 44,000 other bombs are located in some uncleared locations across the southeastern part of the country. The bomb expert noted that some of the explosives are located in schools, churches, markets and other public places. REPORT: Bullion Van Loaded With Money Catches Fire In Lagos State

A bullion van loaded with an unspecified amount of money went up in flames on Tuesday under the Ojota bridge, Lagos. According to Vanguard, the van which did not have a fire extinguisher was driving towards toll gate, apparently to disburse the money in some banks when the unexpected happened. The exact cause of the fire which occurred at about 2.30pm could not be immediately ascertained. However, an eye witness, Mrs Moji Maitani, told newsmen: “I was driving home when all of a sudden the vehicle directly in front of me veered to another lane. I quickly applied the break to avoid what the motorist attempted to dodge, only to discover that a vehicle was on fire. “On further observation, it was discovered to be a bullion van. Its occupants rushed out and were flagging other motorists to demand for fire extinguisher. REPORT: Eight FRSC Officials Crushed To Death In Delta State

Eight passengers were killed in an auto crash in Delta State while an official of the Federal Road Safety Corps was crushed to death at the foot of the Niger Bridge in Onitsha, Anambra State on Tuesday. The Delta State auto crash involved a commercial bus which crashed into the Itakpe-Aladja railway line while crossing a bridge near Agbor killing the eight passengers while seven others sustained life-threatening injuries. Giving details of the accident, an eyewitness said the deceased included six males and two females while a toddler was among the seven victims who sustained varying degrees of injury. According to Punch, the source added that the driver of the bus with registration number BMA 524 XA lost control while crossing the bridge resulting in the fatal crash. A report that has gone viral on social media indicate that a trigger-happy police officer in the South-eastern part of Nigeria shot at a driver flying the Biafra flag against his order. The incident occured in Aba, Abia State when a lorry driver’s life got threatened in after a policeman reportedly shot at him for refusing to take down a Biafra flag hanging in his vehicle. More details have emerged on the 12 people inside the boat that capsized at Ilashe area of Lagos on Sunday. The deceased are said to be family members heading to an evangelical outreach in Festac shortly after church.  The survivors , an 8-year-old boy and the driver of the ill-fated boat, Phillip Godwin are said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital. The Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, has expressed sadness over the sudden death of a member of the Olubadan-in-Council, the Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Olufemi Olaifa. In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Mr Yomi Layinka, the governor described the passing away of the Ibadan high chief as shocking and depressing. Olaifa, a Veterinary Doctor and prominent member of the Olubadan-in-Council, died in the late hours of Thursday at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. He would also have been crowned as an Oba on Sunday (today) alongside other members of the council, who were recently elevated from high chiefs to beaded-crown wearing traditional rulers.
